Enter the beginning balances of inventory items

After adding the inventory item into Peachtree you will also need to enter the beginning balance of each item of inventory. You can either enter the beginning balance of each item as you create the item using the Maintain Inventory Items window. However, if you are creating several items of inventory at once, you can enter the beginning balances of these items altogether at the same time.
To enter the beginning balance of each inventory item, click the Beginning Balances highlighting down the bottom right hand corner of the Maintain Inventory Items window.

After clicking on this button the following window will be open in which you can enter the required information.

The window has following options:
Item ID: This is the item for which you want to enter or change the beginning balance.
Quantity: This is the number of items you have in stock.
Unit cost: Enter the cost of the item per unit. If you want to calculate the unit amount, leave this blank and enter an amount in the Total Cost entry box.
Total cost: This is calculated by multiplying the quantity by the unit amount. If you want to calculate the unit amount, enter an amount here.
Now select the inventory item for which you want to enter the beginning balances you can enter the beginning balances for the entire inventory items altogether.

Once you have entered the information in the Inventory Beginning Balances window, remember to review your entries and click the OK icon to save the information and update the inventory totals. The process of entering beginning balances is same for both of assembly item and simple inventory items…

Build assemblies

To build or UN build the assembly inventory items, from the task menu select the assemblies...
In Build/Un build Assemblies, you actually put together or "build" the assembly from its component inventory items. The window will be open here you enter the item I.D of the inventory item for which you are going to build some quantity. And give the name of it and allocate reference # and how much quantity you are going to built it will be given in the Quantity to build field. Enter a reason for building the assembly.

When you're finished, select the Save button to record the transaction.
